Hey everyone, hope you're having a fine start to your week! Here's some aircraft drawings I did while getting my car serviced a few days ago.

To your left is a Fenathkin fighter-type aerodyne. The Fenathkins are canids, and I wanted their vehicles to echo their tendency towards long "snouted" shape themes. Also, I wanted to evoke a sort of Fantasy-Americana feel; checkerboard patterns (NYC taxis, pizza restaurants?), and a stretched out "cruiser" feel like hot rods or motorcycles you might see on a California highway.

Also, the idea behind the front engine block with the gun system stacked on top (shrouded under a hood) came from the shape of the 1911 pistol. If you're not familiar with guns, it's in almost every action movie set in the 1920-1940s, usually wielded by Dick Tracy, The Shadow, World War II GI's, mobsters, and I think Lobster Johnson from Hellboy.

To your right are some more takes on Sabel aircraft. They've taken the most work to puzzle out, but I think I'm getting closer to what I want. I've had the smaller craft figured out early on, with the big rectangular side-panels suggesting samurai shoulder armor, and the stubby fuselage & cockpit echoing their shorter, rabbity shaped faces (and of course the Russian Hind gunship)

The larger airships have been slower going though. I'm starting with the Colonel's ship and then branching out from there, but because she's such an important character, her ship needs to really, really cool and have that instant recognizability from a distance. I like the flying wing design overall (it suggests stealth & speed which is how she manages to be so hot on Rek & Wyit's trail), but I'm going to try some alternate versions of that engine shape & placement.
