Hey Everyone!

Last week we finally made the jump and upgraded our Game Development Engine Unity. In our post last week we discussed our rationale for upgrading (for release-quality HDRP), but we neglected to mention that 2019.3 also comes with an entire new range of features that we are now incorporating.

The core physics-loop has been optimized in many ways and can now pump out more fps under stressful physics conditions. On top of these Game-Engine based optimizations, the PhysX library has been upgraded from v3.4 to v4.1! We have begun experimenting with what is possible with PhysX's upgrades and optimizations.

Lastly, this upgrade has allowed us to finally fix an especially annoying bug that would cause extreme frame drops in certain physics/collision situations.
