Hey Everyone, it's time for our weekly development blog post!

This week we decided to upgrade to Unity's new "High Definition Render Pipeline". We thought it would be best to do this as soon as possible, because everything about this new Unity system is different! We are going to have to completely redo all the lighting and shader setup/settings. It makes the most sense to do this while we are still early in development and there's less we would have to do to the project. That being said, there's still a ton to do! Getting this new HDRP setup is going to eat up a good amount of time, but will be VERY worth it now and down the road because we get access to a ton of new features, settings, and optimizations!

However... one big downfall is our soft body physics were done via shader code (handled on the GPU side of things), and since this new Unity completely changed it's shader settings, it no longer is working. We will of course fix it up to work on the new HDRP... but like anything else, it takes time haha! Good news is we are pounding through all the fun issues that come with upgrading to a very different Unity version. We plan to have the soft body system revamped and working by the time we release our next build. We plan to also add to that system, and maybe get some soft body ass physics going too!

Now for some good news! Some of the new features are going to help tremendously! One cool feature is their new "Shader Graph" which lets you visually code shaders in a very user friendly way! We have been playing around with it a bit and it is really cool! We have only scratched the surface with this feature, but can already see how useful this will be throughout our development.

That's all for now, we will update you on how all the upgrading went in next weeks' post.

Thank you so much to all of our Patrons for your ongoing support! Thank you for keeping us going and helping us make some cool interactive adult VR content! We love you all!

Have an awesome weekend everyone!
