“You dirty gutter rat!” an old, half balding, greasy looking noble yelled, kicking a poor black haired. “How dare you get in the way of my carriage!?”

Rosa was appalled. Upon arriving at the place the scream originated from Rosa was met with a gruesome scene that she couldn’t understand the reason for. How could this man bet a defenseless girl? And what was worse, no one was even bothering to help her.

“Do you know who I am!? I am Viscount Fiecas! A gutter rat like you should be licking the ground I step on!”

How dare he!? He was terrible, thinking that his rank would give him the right to do so.

[Emergency Quest: Save the poor girl from being beaten to death]

[Have Roland deal with him (+5)]

[Distract him so she can escape (+10)]

[Make him kiss the ground  (+20)]

[Please choose in the next 30 seconds of face punishment.]

An emergency quest? This was the first time that Rosa saw this screen. Instead of red like the other screens, this one was black. What did it mean? …No, she had no time to concern herself with the meaning. She needed to help this girl.

“Stop right there!” Rosa yelled out for all to hear, making her way through the crowd, refusing to let this go on any longer.

“Huh? Get lost, you little brat! I don’t have the time for you! Now move unless you want to be beaten as well!”

This man clearly held no respect for anyone and was in dire need of a lesson, and it looked like this “little brat” was going to be the one to do it.

“Why is there a pig standing before me?”

“…A pig? You little bitch! Do you know who I am? Guards, grab her!”

It was obvious that Rosa’s words were affected by him, seeing how he reacted. However, Rosa didn’t care how he felt.

“I would strongly advise against that,” Roland said, stepping in between Rosa and the guards. “If so much as a hair of my sisters is touched, you won’t be leaving here.”

“Another brat! Guards grab him as well! I’ll make them understand their places by making them my slaves!”

Rosa watched in horror as the fat old man licked his lips, not looking at her, but at her brother. A sick person like this deserved what her brother had planned for him.

“S-sir, the crest on the boy’s vest, is the crest of the Dawn Family!”

Upon seeing this crest, the guards refused to move. None of them wanted to anger any member of the Dawn Family.

“You worthless ingrates! I’ll do it myself!” The old man yelled, pulling out one of the guard's swords for himself and making his way towards Roland.

“Viscount Fiecas, I do believe that you know slavery is banned in this kingdom, and assault against anyone, including that of a commoner, is punishable with a minimum year prison sentence.”

“Shut up! I am a noble! I- arghhh! My arm!”

Before the greasy old man could harm Roland, he used his magic to light his clothes on fire.

“Oh my, I thought you just looked greasy but looks like you were covering yourself in it. Do you know the proper thing to do right now? That’s right. Stop. Drop. And Roll. “

Roland mocked the old man who was forced to do what he was told, rolling around to get rid of the fire, not realizing that Roland had already done so.

“Pathetic. To think someone like you is a noble,” Rosa said, walking passed him, extending her hand towards the black-haired girl.

“You bitch! She’s mine!” he yelled while still not learning his lesson. “You’re both nothing more than brats of the Duke. You won’t get away with this!”

“Really? And you will?” Rosa said, furious with this man.

“You think beating a small defenseless child is something to brag about? Not to mention talking of slavery. And should I forget that you tried to harm us as well?”

“You bitch look at what your brother did to me!” he yelled, trying to show that he was burned, but there was nothing wrong with him. Only his clothes were a tad bit burned and nothing more.

“Hmm, it would seem that you must have gone insane. I do believe that you owe all three of us an apology.”

“Three of you? Like hell, I will ever do that, especially not for some lowly gutter rat!”

The black-haired girl was trembling in fear next to Rosa, and she was furious. She was going to make sure that he paid the price.

“There is nothing to be scared of,” Rosa said to the girl, placing her hand over the girl’s. “You will apologize if you don’t want any of this to come to light.”

“You little brat, you dare threaten me!”

It was clear that mere words would not sway him to change his mind, so Rosa had to think of another way to make him see the error of his ways.

“Brother, could you…”

“…I can most definitely do that,” Roland said, happy to hear the idea that his sister whispered into his ear.

With a snap of his fingers, Roland used his fire magic to burn the harnesses holding the horses, allowing them to run away before lighting the carriage on fire.

“You arrogant brat! Stop this at once!”

The old man couldn't believe that he was in the presence of children right now. The children of the Dawn Family were monsters.

“And why should we do that when you refuse to apologize?” Rosa bent down closer to him so he could stare into the black abyss that was the eyes of her mask.

“If you want us to stop, all you need to do is apologize. Apologize and kiss the ground to prove your sincerity.”

“What! You bitch!”

“Fine, if that’s the way you want it, then perhaps, I’ll have my brother burn down your home next.” Rosa was only bluffing, but the old man did not know that.

“Ngggh! You’ll regret this!” against his will, the old man did as he was told, kissing the ground. “I… I am sorry…”

While he may have apologized, Rosa knew he didn’t mean it. His lips barely touched the ground. However, this seemed to be enough for the system.

[Congratulations! You have successfully saved the girl from the angry noble by making him kiss the ground and having Roland deal with him. You have earned 25 villainess points. You are doing a great job at becoming a proper villainess~. Keep up the good work~.]

“Perfect, I’m glad that you understood, brother. I do believe that we are done here.”

Rosa didn’t want to waste any more time here, nor did she want to see that old man’s face any longer, and she wanted to get away from the crowd that had formed because of them.

“…Um, Miss, you don’t have to…”

“No, you’re coming with me.” Rosa wasn’t about to let go of this girl just yet. The system wanted her t to protect this girl. Did this mean that she was important to the plot of the game? Rosa needed to know.

After a few minutes of walking, Rosa finally stopped with the girl outside a boutique. There Rosa was finally able to get a better look at her, surprised to see that the girl had red eyes.

“You… you’re…”

“I’m Mary, t-thank you for saving me,” she said, escaping Rosa's grip. She didn’t want the person who helped her to touch someone as disgusting as her.

“It is you…”

Rosa couldn’t believe it. The girl before her was Mary Cross, the personal maid of the main heroine who was thrown out of the Duke’s family. She could always be seen on the main menu or in the shop. It was no wonder why the system made Rosa save her. She was an important part of the game that needed to be there.

“Hmm?”

“It’s nothing,” Rosa said, trying not to seem suspicious. “Do you have anywhere you need to go? We can bring you there.”

“N-no… I’m an orphan, and I live on the streets. You don’t have to worry about me any more than this.”

Mary tried to walk away from them, but Roland stood in her way, already knowing what his sister wanted.

“Brother, I want her.”

“What?” Mary was confused by what she heard. How could the daughter of a Duke ever want her?

“I want you to be my maid.”

Rosa was sure that the system was on her side. Just as she did with the mana potion, she would do the same with Mary and make her hers.

“I can’t! I’m too filthy! People will make fun of you for having a maid like me. I’m sorry, but I can’t. I can’t be your maid.”

“Filthy? Why should I care about that? And so what if people make fun of me? There are already too many rumors about me going around as is. What I need is someone that I can trust. Can you be that person?”

“…Y-yes… yes, I can!”

Mary didn’t understand why Rosa wanted her as her maid, but she wanted to make it up to the person that saved her. She wanted to prove that she could be useful.

“Good. Now brother, where was it that you wanted to bring me to again? A boutique?”
