Rosa spent the rest of her day sleeping after her encounter with the Prince. After learning the secrets of her family and then having to deal was an annoying brat that wanted her because of her beauty, all she really wanted was time to herself.

“Mother, why do we keep indulging the royal family like this?” Roland asked, looking over Rosa’s peaceful sleeping face.

He even taught all his life to make sure that no other noble could look down upon him or his family. To make sure that you protect yourself no matter the cost. Here was the world family trying to take what he valued most.

“Even our family is immune to the laws that are the foundation of this Kingdom,” Relena said to him.

Despite her best wishes, there's nothing she could do about it. All she could do was make sure that the plan that she and her husband came up with would work. Rosa never deserved to live such hey tough life. Especially since there was so much hidden from her even still.

“For now, we can only wait and hope that Rosa makes the right decisions for herself. So that she could live a happy life.”

Days passed, and today was a very special day for Rosa. She'd been cooped up in the mansion for far too long and needed some way of relieving stress. Luckily for her, her brother had just the plan to help her unwind.

“Brother, Are you sure about this?” Rosa asked as her brother helped her into the carriage.

“Of course I am,” Roland said back to her. “Don't you want to go explore?”

When he initially gave her the offer to go outside with him. Rosa thought that this was just nothing more than a walk outside in the garden. She'd never expected that he would lead her out of the mansion.

“But what if mother gets mad?”

“She won't get mad, and if she does I promise to take all of the blame.” Roland knew that the best way to help his sister was to open up her world.

After losing her memory, she's not even stuck inside the mansion.

“Trust me, I know some stores that you'll love to go to. They're even ones outside of the main shopping district that I'm sure you'll enjoy.”

“I guess,” she said, unable to refuse her brother's kindness.

To be honest, all she's ever wanted to do since waking up in this world is to explore. But no, actually given the change, she couldn't help but feel worried. This entire world was created to make her suffer. If she wasn't careful, she could trigger a death flag. Though at the same time if she stayed cooped up in the mansion all the time there was nothing she could do to prevent the death flags that she knew about. This was something that she couldn’t ignore doing.

“Don’t worry, everything will be alright,” Roland said reassuring her.

The carriage ride, to Rosa’s surprise, was quite short and enjoyable. However, she couldn’t help but think that there was something different about this carriage compared to the last one.

“… Rosa?” Roland tapped her shoulder, seeing that she was in a daze.

“Huh? Sorry big brother, what were you saying?” Rosa asked, realizing that she got distracted while her brother was talking to her.

“I was saying that you need to make sure to keep your mask on. Mother will be very mad if she finds out that you're not wearing it,” he said, handing her the mask.

“Alright.” Rosa knew that it was to protect her, though she was concerned that it would draw too much attention. Hopefully, everything would be fine because her brother was with her.

Seeing as their carriage had finally arrived in the shopping district, Roland wasted no time escorting his sister out of the carriage. It was time to show her a fun day.

“So, where to first?” he asked her, knowing that this day was for her and she should decide where they go.

“I… I would like to see some books,” Rosa said hoping that her brother wouldn’t think her idea of her desire to read was too boring. She had more than enough dresses and toys thanks to her brother, but what she liked the most were books. And if she was lucky, she might even find a book to help her magic issue.

“Of course~! I know a great place to buy some books,” Roland happily said as their maid and knight followed behind them.

After being led around the crowded shopping district, they finally arrived at what looked like an old run-down bookstore. Rosa didn’t understand why that they went to this one when there were newer and nicer-looking bookstores back the way they came.

“Come on, don’t be shy. I picked this place out just for you,” Roland said, dragging her inside while making sure that the maid and knight waited for them outside. “This is where I got the second book of that romance novel you like.”

“… I… I don’t…” Rosa couldn’t help but feel embarrassed, despite wearing her mask. She had tried to tell her family that she wasn’t reading them because she liked romance stories. They were just a good way for her to figure out common tropes and death flags for villainess characters. Though no matter how much she insisted, her family and even maids would just smile at her as if they didn’t believe her.

“You don’t what?” Roland asked, hearing his sister mumble something as he led her inside.

“Nothing. I was just saying that you shouldn’t make me wait any longer.” Rosa didn’t want to look down on her brother’s kindness, so it would be best just to do what he expected her to.

“Haha, ever the eager one, here this way,” he said, leading her towards the back where a very warm and relaxing reading area was set up.

To be honest, Rosa never thought that she would see something this nice inside a run-down bookstore like this. It was nice.

“Stay here while I go gather up some of the books you’ll like.”

Rosa was soon left alone as Roland began to search the place for books that he thought she would like. Though that didn’t mean she was just going to sit around and do nothing. Looking at the books surrounding her, she came across an odd black book. There was no title on it or any identifiable markings.

Curious about this book Rosa opened it up to see what was inside, yet there was nothing. Was this some sort of diary or journal? And why was it mixed together with all of these other books?

“Hmm, what’s that?” Rosa turned around to see her brother setting several books down in front of her.

“I don’t know.”

If her brother didn’t know what it was, then there was, then there was no way that she would.

“Hehehe~. So I see you found it,” a creepy man with messy hair and glasses said, appearing from behind one of the bookshelves and scaring Rosa.

“Ugh, why do you always have to act like this,” Roland said to the man, not scared by his sudden appearance at all. “Rosa, there’s nothing for you to worry about. This here is Alan Nest. He’s the co-owner of this bookstore and-”

“A mage of the Dawn family,” Rosa said, blurting out her thoughts before she knew it.

Alan Nest was one of the capture targets in the game. And he was one of the few that Rosa could properly remember. Alan Nest was once a great mage serving the Dawn family, but he quit after his wife was murdered several years prior to the start of the game. Falling into a deep depression, Alan couldn’t cope with her death and became a drunk with a massive amount of debt.

In the game, the heroine is supposed to find him after getting lost in town due to there being no map system. She takes Alan in and helps him to recover while healing his broken heart. As a reward, he helps the heroine with her magic studies while improving her mana… wait, mana!

Without mana, Rosa couldn’t use the magic given to her by the system, but if she managed to get the help of Alan Nest then there was a possibility she could help her increase her non-existent mana pool.

“Huh? I don’t remember telling you that before,” Roland said, confused as to how she knew who Alan was. “Are your memories returning?”

“No… uh… I just think he looks like a mage,” Rosa said, trying to think of a way to explain how she knew who Alan was.

“Well, if you think mages are guys like this, then sure. Though it’s a bit disappointing to see that your memories didn’t return… not that you needed them to return, you’re perfectly fine the way you are,” he said nervously, hoping that he didn’t upset her.

“It’s okay. I know you meant well,” Rosa said, patting his shoulder.

“Hehehe~. Such adorable siblings. I hope one day I can have a pair just like you,” Alan said, sending chills down Rosa’s spine. I don’t remember him having this creepy personality in the game.

“Maybe I should-ack!”

“What the hell are you doing, scaring the young miss!” A very tall woman with long brown hair in a ponytail yelled, smacking Alan o the back side of the head.

She pushed his head down, forcing him to bow with her. “I’m terribly sorry for my husband. He’s normally not like this. He must have spent last night doing another all-nighter. I’m Lyla, the wife of this fool. It’s a pleasure to see the young miss and young master here today.”

“It’s okay,” Rosa said to her, seeing that Alan didn’t do anything wrong. “Um, he was saying something about this book?”

Rosa held up the black book, surprising  Lyla.

“My, my. And here I thought that this idiot lost it,” she said, pulling at Alan’s ear.

“Oww! I don’t mean to misplace it!”

To Rosa, Alan and Lyla looked like a good couple. Why did the creators of the game decide to strip him of his happiness?

“That book is quite special. I’m sure that you’ve noticed that its pages are all blank,” Lyla said, kneeling down in front of Rosa who handed her the book. “This is a very special book that can only be used by its owner.

All of a sudden, the book began to glow, turning red as words and images started to appear on the pages. The pages were filled top to bottom with notes and pictures, so much so that Rosa didn’t quite understand what she was looking at.

“I know it’s a lot, but it’s my life’s work,” she said, giving Rosa a big smile. “When he lost it I never thought that it would end up over here. I owe you a great debt, young miss.”

“What is in it?” Rosa was curious now. She had never seen such detailed notes before. Lyla must have spent years filling the pages of the book.

“Your future~. This book is all for you.”

“Hmm?”
