Update 3/13/2020 (Patreon)
Content
Happy Friday the 13th Awoooooo!
I am finally re-energized and typing like MAD. I've already hit more than 10k on patreon alone, (which is kinda my weekly goal in case you haven't noticed), and plan to have another one of my stories updated before I go to bed tonight with at least one gut punching chapter. (We'll go with one chapter. I have a tendency to over guess my own stamina)
This weekend I'll also be trying to write 5 different twitter smuts and post one a day M-F. A fun little writing exercise to be sure. And I'll be working on a deviantart commission for a very patient commissioner on Sunday.
Then come Monday it'll be back to writing for Patreon, and Cushypen. Horray!
The winner of this months free one-shot story has been selected from the Gold Tier and they have been contacted privately (in case they wish to remain relatively anonymous.)
It's actually something I'm starting to look forward to. When someone read my con inspired short story "Ultimate Headspace" and then said something about "tried-and-true reality change", something clicked in me.
I do love altered reality and mental regression. Those things are my personally peanut butter and chocolate. That's not going away anytime soon.
And come on, friends, if you've followed my work or gone through my portfolio for any length of time, you all kinda knew what you were getting into when you signed on. My stories tend to have the odd surprise or two, but "You've got an adult body but everybody sees you as a baby" isn't one of them.
In that spirit, I'm starting to look forward to these requests and commissions as some of them are really getting me to step out of my comfort zone and try newer things. And don't worry, I'll never write something that I'm uncomfortable with. There's a difference between "stretching yourself artistically" and "I am distinctly uncomfortable with this." I'm referencing the former here.
And if you LIKE my favorite plot devices and tropedy tropey tropes, then that's cool too. Don't be afraid to ask for the ol' tried and true, as it were. It's cool to show up to a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert and yell "FREEBIRD!" (Though that's the ONLY place where that's okay to do that!)
Seriously though. CAPCon was fun. I feel I benefited from the rest and getting out of my head and into head space. But it's great to be back in the saddle.
Let me know what thoughts you'd like to share in the comments.
