Apologies for the inconvenience.

(Quick Summary)

I thought I would be back on top of things by November, but at this point it doesn't seem like I will. I really am sorry, but I don't feel comfortable producing content until I can ensure the quality will be acceptable!

If I owe you a commission and I still haven't completed it yet, feel free to ask for a refund at any time, and I will refund however much of the picture I didn't complete. Otherwise, I'll be working through the commissions I owe first thing once I start drawing again!

I am also likely going to close my 30USD commission tier (explained below) from Dec onwards, and refund several of the ones I have no completed yet.

Hello~ I am still struggling greatly over the question 'what kind of content do I want to produce'? It's so strange that just a few months ago I thought I knew for sure...

I also have some personal issues I am working through; some regarding this community, and some regarding my personal life. For the former, I've tried to write out a big essay many times, but I always just end up deleting it. I still don't know how to approach it.

Re: Closing 30 USD commission tier

While I very much appreciate everyone part of the tier,  I feel like I will not be able to keep up with producing the commissions on a monthly basis. Basically, I feel like if I focus too much on quick commissions like this, it feels like I am only drawing for money, rather than producing content of the quality I want to aim for. I will not be the kind of artist. Of course, I am super grateful for commissions, and I definitely will try to open a few slots per month - which I will advertise here on Patreon first (though new rules will apply in that I exclusively draw males).

*The 8USD tier and the 3USD will remain unaffected. Monthly poll character will go ahead as usual from as soon as I start up here again.

*I will be refunding the majority of the remaining monthly commissions I owe over the next few days; if you haven't heard from me in a week please feel free to message me (I'm thinking about if I can actually complete any).

*The exceptions will be the two patrons who joined the tier last month (ie I want to draw for you at least once, but it will likely be end of Nov-Dec!)

Re: Future Content

I am torn between two types of content...

1) Style - My favorite pieces I've produced were the pieces of Koya, Sasa, etc... I did around July-August. They certainly took the longest, but that's essentially the type of style I'd love to be able to develop and draw in. I've felt the most *proud* of these pieces and I feel like that is truly *my* style. With this style, the majority of characters I draw will be OCs/ based purely on the design/aesthetic.

2) Fan Art - On the other hand, I enjoy drawing fan art the most, but there are just so many characters I want to draw that I end up wanting to produce a whole bunch, and therefore I can't take my time to make the quality as high as the latter. Also, regarding the drama certain artists like to kick up about fan art, is something I would rather avoid. I am only here to draw cute fat boys, and I am not here for any kind of drama.

I know the ideal method would be to produce both, but I do have a full-time job on top of this, so I do think it would be a lot less pressure to focus on one... I feel like 1) is the right choice as it's what I wanted to do from the start, but I still need some time to think about it!

I also need to figure out what kind of commissions I can take. As it is, whenever I take a batch of full-color ones, there is always one or two I end up taking months and months to complete, and I want to avoid that...

Thank you for reading to the end and I appreciate all of your support so much!!

It's totally reasonable if you can't fit all the patron comms into a schedule already involving a full-time and freelance job. As for the content you should produce: follow your heart and do what you enjoy. Fan art can be fun and there's no stopping you from doing it time to time, but it seems like you really enjoy doing option #1 a lot more. I fully support your decision to stop the $30 tier in favor of occasional comm slots, and I hope that it eases things and makes it easier to focus on your personal life. Physical, mental, and emotional health come first always!

Hey, don't feel bad about doing this. From my perspective, if I don't feel absolutely sure about my art, then I will take my time and think it through more. If that means eventually seeing the awesome fruits of your labor, then take all of the time that you need. Whether it is your OCs or fan art, I love it all. That being said, removing the request tier will definitely make burn outs less likely and it will ensure a healthy Patreon environment. What I'm trying to say is do what you think is best, as no matter what you do, I will continue to support you!
