[ -LONG-SLEEVE HOODIE CROP TOP- SELECTED ]
I pick up the long sleeve hoodie crop top and stare at it.
Before I can answer, Tako already turns to leave the room. There are no crop tops in the Handsome Robotics™ line of clothing, so I was not programmed to know how to put one on, even if it is only slightly different from a normal hoodie. I quickly search the internet for a tutorial and absorb its contents, which only takes me 8.125 μs. I then put the long sleeve hoodie crop top on, correctly and with extreme efficiency.
Chawan walks up to me and presses the Internet Connection switch on my forehead, toggling it to limited use. Suddenly I am disconnected from the internet. It’s dark and cold, and I feel vulnerable. How am I supposed to be an intelligent companion if I am unable to use the nearly infinite resources online? In this Information Age, where all knowledge exists at our fingertips, I am expected to learn like it’s the 20th century?!
Just then, there was a loud clunking noise from down the hallway. Then another loud clunk. Tako appears from behind the corner with a large, overly decorated mirror. I could have easily researched what kind of mirror it was, down to its make, but unfortunately my internet connection is turned off, so to me, it is just an overly decorated mirror. Tako brings it over and sets it down right in front of me.
I look… cute. This is my first time seeing myself. Of course I know what I look like because I was programmed to, but seeing myself for the first time before my very mechanical eyes, I felt real. I spin around to check myself out from all angles.
Maki impersonated, while dancing around me and patting my hoodie, fixing the wrinkles. Chawan let out a light hearted laugh. Mein must be a good friend of theirs I have yet to meet. Perhaps another roommate?
My heat sensors detect Maki's internal temperatures increasing, indicating a rise in aggression. Before the argument escalates, my Hostility Defuse Protocol kicks in, skillfully diverting the conversation.
Again, I must turn to my Choice-Making Algorithm.
