ah, yay! also i haven’t been paying enough attention to chat to notice if someone answered, but the man reading the go book in the library initially was also yeonjin’s husband, not jaejun (the bully)! i got them confused for a bit on my first watch too, but jaejun has longer hair and looks younger. the go-centric people are dongeun, doyoung (yeonjin’s husband), and yeojung (hotel del luna doctor guy). hope this helps!

This drama is so meticulous, I love it. I now want to know more about go, as I feel that it is highly important to the way everything is planned out. Also, I feel like fog is a metaphor for this drama. Just how dangerous it can be.

This show is good on so many levels. The details that are in this show is impressive. We have one of the darkest protagonists I ever seen…and she is super smart. Take her game of Go she played at that club. She plans to use Yeonjin’s husband in her revenge plot…so of course she tracks him and knows that he got interested in the Go game, when she sees him reading up on it in the library. So she planned to learn the game at a high level to be better than him because she knows he is not the type to take loosing softly and she could manipulate whatever future plans she has with him around that. That’s why she needed a good tutor. That’s why she said that the intern guy was not the one she wanted to beat. Yeonjin’s husband after watching her play in the club…thinks on it at his home as we saw and he asks himself why she drug out the game like that when she had the game won much earlier. Well the reason was because she wanted to make sure he saw her play and win because she wants him to challenge her at some point. She ended the game after he showed up and witnessed it. Every enemy is a piece on the Go board for her…she is brilliant.

No problem, Lok! Happy to rewatch with you, and I hope nothing I say comes off like one of those “well, actually” people. 😅🤍

One theory that I saw was that dumplings are considered "poor people" food in Korea. They are usually pre-packaged and you can find them in the frozen section at grocery stores. Doyoung's mom mentioning the dumplings was meant to mock Jaejun and implies that his club is not as high-end as it seems because of the food, and definitely not worth the trouble of going through such a pretentious membership registration process.
