IKRRRR beautiful liar is so good yet it feels like something is missing. We are so used to joohoney's title tracks and members' vibes in the songs during these past years so the songs of other producers somehow lack the core of mx sound

and gotta have to say, i am not really into this album as much as i think i would, may be because of the experimenting stuff the members do, good for them really, its a way to improve but yea, i am not into this album like the rest. heh may be i would love them along the way as i continue to listen because i am the type that cant get into songs on the first 2-3 listens, so far, beautiful liar is topping in this album for me

Reason is a funny little dude for me… this is my second full listen and I’m feeling like my opinions on it are already changing. At first I really loved the fact that we were getting away from what Shape of Love put down and getting back to more darker and heavier sounds (since that’s core mx for me) but now I’m realizing that SoL was a bit more coherent and tReason is… more experimental, like you said. It reminds me of their Take 1 Are You There album (which I don’t think you’ve reacted to) where out of everything on there, I only really go back to the same one or two songs, a third if I’m feeling nostalgic. I don’t mind experimentation but I feel like Reason is messing with me lol out of the ot6 releases, Fatal Love is still my favorite, with each release after that only having like two b-sides that I immediately loved on first listens, and some others that I eventually warmed up to by the next release. In Reason, I like each song for what they are but I’m feeling like the ones I gravitated towards first (Daydream, Crescendo and Lone Ranger) are starting to fade to where Deny and It’s Okay are. Those two, I’m just not sure how to feel about now but they’ll probably grow on me later in the year. Yet, Daydream is a little too empty for me, like it’s missing something to hook me in the instrumentals and Crescendo is just a bit *too* much 😅 but it might be better for me live in a concert off the atmosphere. Lone Ranger I reeeeally love the chorus of and the very fact that it sticks out so much here (it’s like a sister song to Rodeo- from the Take 2 album- but more serious and not party) but I’m starting to feel funny about it somehow. For Beautiful Liar, honestly I love it to death and it’s my favorite thing on Reason so far. The rock edge and edm are stuff I listen to outside of kpop so for them to outdo themselves again with something new for them… and the familiar but grimy aesthetic, it was a perfect hit for me. I think it might be the first title track I enjoyed right at first listen and replayed a lot since Love Killa. Joo's era in between is something I appreciate and respect so much for their trajectory as a group but I wasn’t immediately drawn to those tracks. I actually couldn’t stand Rush Hour at first but now it’s definitely up there with Love Killa, Alligator, Beautiful and now Beautiful Liar… like the farther we move away from Rush Hour, the sadder I get lol welp that was long 🥴 it’ll be interesting to see where our favorites from Reason shift from here on out!

Ya, now that I've had a couple days to sit with this and make sure it's not just because it's new and exciting, I can say with some certainty that this album has legit been thrown into the #1 spot for me now. There are songs I like from other albums more but as a whole concept I just LOVE all the vibes, feels very mature and sexy and experimental without being convoluted or distracting. Really unfolds like a story. I liked Lone Ranger to begin with but it was immediately not my favorite on the album at first listen, but I actually find it to be kind of a fascinating song, how do you mix spaghetti western, pop, 80's glam rock and EDM into a successful song? Hyungwon has been saying for years that he wanted to make a Country song and it really feels like this is his KPOP/DJ rendition of that and I'm fascinated by it lol. My husband hates it but that's okay hahaha.
