Joy personally picked Hello and Day By Day, the latter was a song she loved and sung since trainee days. The others were suggested by her team and then carefully chosen by her. She loved the idea of an album/songs that mothers could enjoy with her daughters, so the time period late 90's - early 2000s fit perfectly. Especially since she likes r&b and jazz and her voice fits those retro sounds so nicely. I love how cohesive the whole album is, while still featuring so many different genres. It's a great introduction to her, I think, since it's so pure and manages to give off happy vibes and nostalgia throughout - which is so Joy! It's not the debut many expected or wished for, but it's only the beginning and some people seem to forget that Joy isn't the most confident singer out there. This album was a way for her to find her voice and I'm so happy to see how greatly the whole album is received in Korea. I hope Joy gains even more confidence through all the great support and success 💚 The whole album makes me excited for what's to come from solo Joy in the future!
