i think u should watch “Busted!” on netflix, Sejeong and Sehun (our Se-Se Sibling) are on that show. it’s variety-drama show that has detective theme ! it already has 3 season on netflix. it is so good! most like a “escape room” theme too ps: so excited for PD101 season 2. my fav

Thanks for the journey man! My one-pick was Sejeong, so i was happy with the results. Happy with the lineup in general:)

(my comment entered halfway through typing :( ) Sejeong was definitely the MVP of the show for me too. But it's funny how you barely registered Chaeyeon throughout the show even though she's consistently been in the top 11 lol. She was definitely a quiet one. But I like the overall lineup and I'm looking forward to you getting to know IOI and the connected groups even more. And for season 2!😊

Wall of text coming…. So that was really fun watching it again, and going on this journey with you & the rest of the subscribes. Since you started this reaction I’ve been thinking about a few things & how the PD series changed from the inaugural season. You’d mentioned many times throughout how things on 48 where different & sometimes even better & I wholeheartedly agree. You mentioned that you suspected the PD48 trainees learned from some of the actions of the girls in 101 & again, I agree. But I’ll take it a step further. I think the shows producers & the entertainment companies learned as well. I’d go so far as to say the companies probably even coached their trainees on how to handle some of the more inevitable delicate situations that were likely to arise. Let’s be honest, the Izone girls, as well as many of the PD48 girls in general, were/are quite literally as adept as anyone in kpop at avoiding possible negative confrontations. However, no one will be able to convince me that those didn’t occur on occasion in 48. Yet very rarely did they make it to the aired episodes. Mnet basically made a meal out of the confrontations in 101. Some other things…. Again no one will ever convince me that Sohye was as inept as she appeared to be during her initial interview & placement audition for the trainers. Was she substantially better? Probably not but being an actress at heart she played it up…& played it up well! Kudos to her for that & kudos on making the squad! Speaking of not being convinced, much like Chaeyeon in PD48, I’m still not convinced Yeonjung truly finished 11th/12th….my gut tells me Mnet manipulated those votes too in order to keep as much drama as possible to the end. For me anyway she was a forgone conclusion after her ITNW performance. Yes, Chaeyeon was a part of DIA before and after PD101/I.O.I. I think she slipped under a lot of radars but I guess that’ll happen when you’re more introverted in a large group of contestants that would almost by definition attract a bunch of extroverts. I’d say her best & most popular stage was Sunmi’s Full Moon with Sohye & Pinky….for me one of the most entertaining stages of the season but even in a stage of just 3 she kind of got lost. She was also the center for that ITNW group 2 train wreck that included Chanmi, Somi, Eunwoo & Heehyun. It was just plain bad but Chaeyeon had that fatal center/ending fairy pose that I think got her a ton of recognition (she has a fancam of that performance that shows just how much she changes when she on stage). If you look at her rankings they shot up after that & never really dropped very low again. For me that stage (or more accurately the lead up to that stage) was also probably where Heehyun lost any shot of getting in the final 11. One final note on Chaeyeon, I’m actually really glad you didn’t see it coming because you were almost spoiled out of having any surprises….and even if you didn’t know for sure with Nayoung & especially Yoojung, you kinda knew. Btw, Nayoung ended being their leader, a perfect choice! Ask me about the hidden camera prank they all pulled on her with the Knowing Bros guy if you’re interested. Even until today I don’t understand the Somi love….but different strokes, right? I was so happy when Sohye (5th) & Chungha (4th) were chosen (picked Chungha, whiffed on Sohye) but also a little sad because it pretty much meant my 3 favs (of the “2nd 11”), Chaekyung, Sohee & Kim Nayoung, were pretty well done. At that point I would have bet a lot on how 1,2,3 & 11 turned out. As I’m sure you know, shortly after 101 & a stint with I.B.I & CIVA (whatever that whole thing was) Chaekyung replaced Somin (Kard) in April. I love her so much & I can’t help but feel that she’s just snake bitten! She debuted in 2012 with a group called Puretty that was to focus their activities in Japan (DSP clearly wanting to continue their dominance in Japan because of Kara’s incredible popularity there at the time). That experiment lasted just over a year & landed with a thud. DSP made a public proclamation that they’d find a group for all the Puretty girls. Fast forward 2 1/2 years & Chaekyung finally resurfaces as a contestant on PD101 (along with group mate Cho Shiyoon “Siyoon”) while Somin debuted as April’s leader. The others left DSP after Puretty disbanded. She was then part of the Kara Project competition show which DSP came up with to replace the 2 members that were leaving but she missed out on that also. Heo Youngji, who was the one that the annoying host guy talked to in the audience, won the spot in Kara. Chaekyung then replaced Somin as the leader of April when she left to go to Kard. Now she’s caught up in the rather ugly April/Hyunjoo bullying scandal that she had absolutely nothing to do with. I don’t see April surviving that & so once again she’ll be left on the outside looking in….which is a shame because she’s so very talented! She is actually very good friends with Kim Sohee from PD101 who was another of my favorites on the show &, as I’m sure you know, eventually debuted as the main vocalist of Nature….not for nothing & don’t @me anyone but Girls should have been the 2020 song of the year! Side note, Sohee & Chaekyung were panelists on the I.O.I episode of I Can See Your Voice & the girls invited them to perform the final stage with them & the ultimate winners. All of this (inevitably) leads me to making (admittedly) unfair comparisons between I.O.I & Izone…. After rewatching 101 I came to a realize something that I really already knew…& this is not a slight on either group of extremely talented girls! As there are a lot of Wizone here I may get some backlash from this. In my estimation, from top to bottom (1 to 11/12), I believe that I.O.I has more individual talent than Izone…I hope if anyone reads this they’ll hear me out first. For instance, Jo Yuri is a GREAT main vocalist & has proven it many times….& I firmly believe she’ll continue to do that, either as a soloist or part of a group. But both Yeonjung & Sejeong, I.O.I’s main vocalist, are just as, if not more, phenomenal! Chaeyeon is arguably one of the top 5 dancers in kpop right now….& who is she often compared to? Chungha, among a few others. Speaking of, Chungha has had an unbelievable solo career thus far & I’m convinced that Eunbi could have that same type of success going forward. I love Yena, Hyewon & Minjoo, how can you not, but none of them can rap like Yoojung. Where I do think Izone excels is with Chaewon’s lead vocalist skills. Anyway, I just think I.O.I has more talent….individually. Where they fall short is as an actual group. This has very little to do with the I.O.I members as they clearly get along even still (many are on each other’s sns feeds, a lot) & more to do with the Izone girls. Honestly, the PD series caught lightning in a bottle when they created Izone! Their chemistry, in a word, is simply outstanding…& it’s so easy to see! I think another part of the problem was the I.O.I girls only promoted together for about 9 months but for the last3-4 months Sejeong, Mina, Chaeyeon & Yeonjung promoted with their “permanent” (someone tell me how Pledis & Jellyfish screwed up Pristine & Gugudan so damned much!) groups & had no activity with I.O.I. I believe Mnet also learned from this & thus made contracts much more ironclad going forward. Anyway, this was so fun! Thanks for the ride….& steering the ship!
