Some more absolutely incredible stages today - makes it really difficult for me to choose which ones I liked the most (especially since I've gone back and rewatched them all while editing!) I can't wait for Ep. 6, it looks like it's going to be such wholesome fun 🥺❤️

Sf9 ranking high for the expert/self evals, was well deserved imo. They were my top 3 for this round.❤️ ahhh I’m so proud of stray kids. This was a different side of them they were able to highlight and share w/ the world and it made me so proud. The raw emotions they portrayed in their performance really left a lingering and unforgettable impact. Also can we talk about the camerawork?! Omg like it was really impressive, watching the part where Changbin was rapping and had the black/white filter with the little boy bc it was all done in one take, and done in real time and the fact that the timing in all that was executed so perfectly blew my mind.

SKZ slayed the vocals, no one can tell me otherwise. Stays are not even surprised at Han’s performance, we know that boy can belt out those notes. Seungmin’s vocals have improved so much since their debut days, it’s crazy. Also, main dancer Minho singing chorus while dancing. Seeing IN cry breaks my heart, the pressure he must have been under. And that scene where Chan comforted him 🥺 Stray Kids will always rank 1st in Stays’ hearts.

I really enjoyed this round! MY favorite 2 are BTOB and Ikon as far as making the song their own + the overall concept and execution. I also really liked SKZ concept, greatly appreciate them going for a platonic story/interpretation! The only reason it isn't at the top for me is that the original's power is too strong--the original climax, with the four vocalists on their knees singing their guts out in perfect harmony while two rappers trade off on their rapid-fire rap, is insurmountable for me. They did *really* good though, their storyline was my favorite!

I know right! I found it so interesting looking at the full stage version where you can see how the boy ‘disappears’ by just running behind the camera yet it looks so seamless and smooth in the performance broadcast! Sometimes simple is best, no fancy tricks just the boy ducking out of frame and following behind the camera.

If I had placed bets on the rankings for this episode, I'd be living in my car. The SKZ ranking confounded me...perhaps the judges found the concept to be too taboo/edgy for their taste? The stage was terrific. Who knows. I had Ateez and SF9 toward the bottom on this one. I thought TBZ, iKon and BtoB were the top three. Uffa, it's a good thing I don't gamble. What a hell of a round by every group though, the audience vote is going to make this very very interesting.

I decided iKON, BtoB, Stray Kids, then SF9. I'd tie Ateez and The Boyz for 5th for me. I wasn't feeling Ateez's arrangement (probably doesn't help that I'm not a fan of the original song anyway) and The Boyz didn't leave as much of an impact on this one for me (I think I love the original too much lol). The rankings are stupid anyway though, since they all did an amazing job. I really wanted to smack someone when they asked I.N. the question at the end. I was already tearing up when his voice cracked b/c I knew he was going to take it hard and cry about it and I did not want to see him cry, poor kid.

I'm late because I was on vacation and I was bad and watched the stages before watching the episode. I think everyone honestly killed it this round - the only thing I can say about Stray Kids because of watching the stage before the show, their story was hard to understand for me at first. I got the jist of it, but I felt like I didn't appreciate it as well until I saw the show and people's comments and put the whole story together and realized how beautiful it was. I think the judges might have viewed it that way. Now the self evaluations - what the hell...I have no clue. I kind of give up on the voting/rankings and just want to enjoy these because it's a hot mess lol they're all winners in my heart. I'm the real winner because I found some amazing new groups from this and just get joy from seeing these performance and interactions! Can't wait for next week!!!

I cannot even think of ranking any of these performances, I hate that it's a competition because everyone is doing so amazing, doing something new they wouldn't get a chance to, especially during covid, so it's so hard to see them being dejected over this. As a competition theres only so much you can do, limited scores to give, so even if someone is ranked as last, it doesn't mean they gave a bad performance. Heart is breaking In regards to I.N., when his voice cracked I had instantaneous thoughts of 'bummer, that was emotional!' So I personally think there was nothing wrong with it, it fit in so well from a viewer standpoint. I can understand expert analysis being critical of it since it wasn't 'perfect' form, but, again, it just added to the performance for me. I.N. fighting! ❤️
