Yeaaah my favourite time of the week hehe! And totally agree with you again haha, it doesn't seem scripted, like, you can see they're not following anything (save for the program, of course) and just entertain with being themselves and playing / messing with each other. That's one of the thing I love the most in this group, their distinct and clear personalities and once again their great chemistry haha. Btw, I looove your rants, it adds something and makes it more interesting to me (and one of the reasons you're for now the only patreon I've subscribed to even if I'm only interested in like three groups you're reacting to lmao). Plus it prooves you genuinely like what you're watching and it always makes me happier! Till next week~~ much love

by the end of the rant i was fully in my emo exo feels, like i can't even, i just love them so much😭i never really had any exo-l friends so i feel that, i guess that's why i always feel more excited to share things even im just crying that i love them😂😭 rewatching this is one of the highlights of my week atm, i miss exo so much, and rewatching them all together having a good time just hits. also the one song you pointed out today was unfair- there's a fun livestage for that hehe. yeah and exo are just, naturally such wonderfully chaotic funny guys, and their love for each other just always radiating every episode =')

Brace yourself for the upcoming episodes, they are going to be so much fun and intense! No matter how many times I rewatch this show (and it's prbbly my 5th time watching it with you now again haha) it's always so hilarious. Their interactions are so wholesome, but I also love how the crew and staff are included too, you will see more of the small interactions in the next set of episodes. And yes, like you said, it doesn't feel scripted, with EXO it never does for some reason And also prepare lots of snacks, cuz the dinner party they will have will make you hungry

The thing about EXO is that they rarely do varieties. Maybe that's why they come off so natural. They're not that exposed to scripted shows and are only interested in making the most out of their overseas vacation with each other. The mysterious concept that SM gave EXO allowed them to shine solely through their talents but it also restricted them from showing the world their personalities. I'm still kinda bitter that SM seldom gives them the platform to highlight who they are as people. EXO are also much more private and reserved compared to other idol groups so we don't see much of their behind-the-scene interactions as a whole group. I guess that just makes this reality show all the more precious to EXO-Ls.

I have some theories about EXO's journey and variety shows. In the beginning they did Showtime. It was most likely quite successful and I believe they would have continued having EXO do variety/reality shows, but then 2014 happened. So that kind of killed them doing another Showtime. They were reeling from Kris leaving, then Luhan leaves the same year, and then 2015 was no better with Tao leaving. SM has 3 lawsuits on their hands, and a group that has been battered and beaten. 2015 was also when they filmed EXO Next Door. 2016 saw Lay being busier, D.O. getting more into acting, and the formation/debut of CBX, so scheduling would have been almost impossible. 2017 was when EXO's Ladder Season 1 happened so that sort of counts as their reality/variety show, and then in 2018 they squeezed in EXO's Ladder Season 2. I am sure it was quite successful, and I think people really liked the format. so SM started doing other shows like this with the same mini-vacation concept with games/missions. I think they would have done more seasons of Ladder had enlistments not started in 2019. As I said, SM seemed to like the concept since they did a similar show with Super M in 2020, with MTopia. I enjoyed that series as well (though not quite as much), and I am hopeful that they will let EXO do more shows like this.

Lachie, you are a man of great taste, and keen perception. You definitely recognize quality reality content and can tell genuine reactions and interactions from scripted or staged ones. I absolutely love everything about the EXO's Ladder series. I think the concept is incredible. Perfectly suited for the game-obsessed EXO! They aren't doing anything super remarkable, it is stuff that you or I could do on a vacation, but they make it so entertaining, while still keeping everything natural between them. It is packed with activities, but the pacing of the show never feels rushed, and the damn edits are just the BEST! I love seeing the edits roasting the boys! Suho really is the star of EXO's Ladder season 2. No doubt about it. Everyone in the group is naturally drawn to him. And Sehun exhibits peak baby behavior the entire show! I can't with how much they spoil him! Baekhyun is so freaking adorable this whole show, Kai is just the cutest little entertainment sprout, D.O. is living his best foodie life, Chen is at his whiney but enthusiastic best, Chanyeol is Mr. Competitive and Mr. Passionate, and Xiumin is the calm, cutie pie hyung. I am so glad you are enjoying the show. This is honestly the best way to really get a feel for each of their personalities and to see how they fit into the group. Watching them get so excited, have so much fun, get to run around and just enjoy each other, is such a great experience! Keep giving us the rants, I am totally here for it!
