I like how every time someone says an absolute "No one can survive this, or no one can break out of this." it's usually followed by "except Gojo." And for some additional context, the old guy with the mustache and the frames power is the head of the Zenin clan. That's the clan both Maki and Toji come from. It's a clan where your worth as a person is decided by your talent as a sorcerer, so since both Maki and Toji have heavenly pacts that cause them to have no cursed energy they were both seen as the lowest members of the clan, which caused them both to ditch the clan and go their own way (there was a scene in season 1 where she tells him she's leaving and he mocks her). Thus why Maki doesn't like being around the old guy.

Ranting about modern TVs and frame resolution is somewhat adjacent to how the old man's technique works, so by doing that he sort of reveals part of it, thus making it stronger without directly explaining it. Pretty smart move.
