Natsu to F. Rogue: There's no throne. There is no version of this where you come out on top, maybe your dragons come, and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect Fiore, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it. With all the guilds coming together against a common enemy, I'm getting Avenger's vibes. But yep, Eclipse 2 was a trap and a lie the whole time. Lucy closes the gate because Crux was studying it through Lucy's mind and as soon as he figured it out he was all " OH, FU- LUCY! SHUT THAT DAMN DOOR RIGHT NOW! SHUT IT! SHUT IT!!!" Also that shot of Natsu standing on that roof, glaring at F. Rogue is a great stand off to end on. We're in the endgame of the arc now!

For me, it seemed obvious the dragons were going to come out of the Eclipse Gate since dragons have been extinct, the gate is a time travel device, and where would 10,000 dragons suddenly come from after hundreds of years with no one ever encountering them before? I just didn't know the reason they'd open the gate. The "Eclipse Cannon" red herring did admittedly throw me (they did it well enough), but as soon as the time got near to open the gate and no dragons were appearing, I thought, oh, I was right in the first place, wasn't I? They were tricked into opening it, of course.
