While the twist is nice, it did feel a little convoluted. Hisui kept saying things like "this person, they," all she had to do was say he and him, especially since Arcadios knew she had spoken to someone from the future. Like they went 7 years and never once did Hisui mention a name, a look, etc. Lol and even though losing F Lucy would never Sting as much as losing current Lucy, it still hurt. And Natsus face at the end was really well done with anger in one eye and sorrow in the other.

Yeah i don't think Rouge quite understands how timelines work, probably heavy desparation and depression on his side from the shit hes seen, but still. It isn't often we get good side outright deaths on screen, seeing Lucy outright die was...unexpected, it stings more than you'd expect considering we still have current Lucy around, probably because you can tell future Lucy has gone through a lot of traumatic crap and now she just gets to die without accomplishing her goal.

My take is that the kingdom collected the magic on their own for the "Zeref execution mission" and Rogue appeared just before F.Lucy to tell Hisui about the dragon and "plan 2". Also the fault is in the translation, while Japanese has a lot gendered terms, they also have neutral term for he/she, so in casual conversation you might not realise the gender the other person is talking about, so it didn't come up before Arcadios questioned about the motives and mentioned "girl"...c (this is often used in anime for "plot twists" like this, and when translated to englist, it loses some joke/surprise potential)
