Ivan is Makarovs son and Laxus' dad. We've been building to him since the Fairy Tail Civil War arc when Laxus rebelled. Gajeel was a double agent who spied on Ivan for Makarov. So essentially we got our friendly rivals plus Raven Tail and Sabertooth. It's gonna be an uphill battle for both teams. And we already know Ivan plays dirty.

The Chef is Yajima san. He was a member of the council from before they disbanded after jellal tricked them into firing the Etherion at the tower of heaven (back when he was being evil) He is a longtime friend of Master Makarov, and an supporter of Fairy tail (basically tried to keep the council off their backs) We've seen him here and there, and there was some filler (i think?
