Damn! I really liked Fives! And the worst part about his death is, it seems that no one will be following up on what he learned!

Palpatine is a force user strong enough to blind the entire Jedi Order's senses, manipulating a clone to act erratically and seem crazy is easy for him. He also likely uses the force to subtly make people agree with his suggestions, basically the force persuasion the Jedi use but on a much higher level where no one can tell he's doing it.

And at the end we lost Fives because no one believed him. We followed him since the very beginning with Rex. The ending really got me too with the Imperial March from the Empire Strikes Back playing in the background throughout the episode

WHOLESOME DEUS

TO THIS DAY!!! Fuck that scumbag commander Fox! POS! and so ends the story of Dominio squad. RIP to Fives, Heavy, Cutup, and Droid bate.

the terrifying thing is Palpatine didn't even need to lie to the Jedi about the chip, he's actually being honest about why it malfunctioned, and what it's for. That unique parasite probably was the reason the chip malfunctioned and began to decay, and he's being honest when he says he wants all the clones to be vaccinated so their chips won't be damaged. The chips do exactly as him and the Kaminoans said, they make the clones more docile and obedient, it's just the Jedi and others haven't put together what that truly means, what that could let him do with the clones. He's mocking the Jedi to their faces by telling them the truth, but none of them have the foresight to think what that type of control could mean. That's what's so great about Palpatine as a villain, he's out in the open, but no one realizes his schemes.

In a way Fives dies in a similar manner to Maes Hughes, both were soldiers trying to uncover a sinister plot and both find out that the culprits are all the way at the top and both are killed for what they discovered and the evidence is swept away. I do think its obvious Palpatine knew how Fives would react and sadly Fives played into his hands. Mind you, Maes got avenged since his death lit a fire under Mustang's ass and made him that much more determined to uproot corruption. Unfortunately catching Palpatine slipping seems next to impossible since it was only by pure accident that Fives came mere inches from exposing Palpatine and Dooku's plan with Order 66. I do think the shock from knowing what he had learned on top of the drugs the cloner injected made him paranoid and scared and in turn led him to that fatal mistake. Fox even tried to tell him not to reach for the weapon and the expression at the end made it seem like he felt remorse for killing Fives.
