Change is the greatest theme of this season, most characters go through some kind of metamorphosis of character, some more than once. Now the only question is how will they end up by it's end

This is when I started to hate Ketil. From the start of the season, he seems like "one of the good ones" he's a slave owner who gives Einar and Thorfinn a way out of slavery, something that other of the farm workers don't agree with. He treats them well and isn't antagonistic towards them. Then we learn he's hiding under a false name, suffering under the responsibility he carries with that name and uses Arnheid as emotional support. Then we learn he isn't giving her an out like the other two, he wants her to stay his slave so she can give him the emotional support that ideally his wife should be giving him, this is very pitiful. It's not a super negative thing given what we have seen so far, i mean, he hasn't been abusive or neglectful of her unlike his prune of a wife. However, this scene changed everything, the second he learned of her escape attempt he had a violent reaction. He physically beats her for trying to leave, not even hesitating when she tells him she's pregnant with his child. He is a truly pathetic man who deserves everything that's coming to him.

I 100% agree with this. Honestly, it wouldn't even surprise me if Ketil's marriage was strictly an arrangement. As we found out previously, the love of his life dyed a long time ago.

One more thing to add, the thing Snake said about weighing his dead men's lives over Arnheid's husband. Yeah, one of them just heavily implied (kind of outright stated) that if she wasn't Ketil's property then they would have gang raped her for what her husband did. This isn't a scale anymore; it's a catapult and his men have been sent flying. Of course, telling him that wouldn't have stopped him from doing what he did, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
