Another GREAT movie! Seeing Umbridge the Punchable yoked up, then carted off was absolutely invigorating!

I WATCH THIS MOVIE AT (HBO) MAX.

So, Curtis, having seem what a delightful woman Dolores is, do you like her more or less than your favorite LotR character, Denethor?

Peter Milligan

It's not stated in the movie, but in the book, Umbridge is the person who sent the dementors after Harry at the beginning of the story to try to get rid of him. Also it's never explicitly stated in the book what the centaurs did to her but it was enough that she flew into a panic at the sound of clopping hooves.

In the book it was actually Cho's friend who told everything to Umbridge. And faced a curse Hermione had put on the paper they signed while joinnig the defense club. (It had similar effect of what Weasleys did to the Filch)

Also in the book, but not really mentioned in the movie: Snape understood Harry's coded message, checked and found Sirius was alive and well at Grimmauld Place. I think they eventually put two and two together which is how the Order ends up at the Ministry for backup.

Idk if you noticed, but the number of students being trained by Harry increased during the montage. The mass break out of Azkeban is about as major as the mass outbreak of Impel Down. Bellatrix is as evil as Voldemort, but far more sadistic. She is unhinged and batshit crazy. She did not kill Neville's parents, but left them as broken husks of who they once were as Neville said. Being able to produce patronuses, means they can fight off Dementors :) When Umbridge took over, it was starting to feel like a tyrannical regime had moved in. But the tighter The Ministry squeezes the more they feed the desire to rise against them. One can only squeeze so tightly before enough is enough. The centaurs were friendly; one did save Harry from Voldemort in HP1. But The Ministry is pushing them to a conflict. Harry's dad was a prick as a teen, but he matured and grew past his bullying nature. Now we have context on why Snape is so resentful to Harry. I remember my mother shouting "Bye bitch!" tp Umbridge when me, her, my younger sister, and dad saw this in theaters. My mom was a megafan of this series. Ginny is a rediculously powerful witch. I'd argue her raw potential surpasses that of her siblings. I think the books expand on it more than the films. In fact I've heard from some that the books do not do her proper justice. Harry did use a Crucio curse on Bellatrix and Voldemort was urging Harry to use the killing curse on her. Sirus' death hits me hard everytime. It's so sudden you're left all "wtf just happened" and thenyou realize Bellatrix killed Sirius. My mom had the same reaction as you did to Fudge seeing Voldemort. I think maybe almost her exact words XD Our heroes got a pyrrhic victory here; Sure Fudge stepped down and the world knows Volde is back, but Volde has most of his original followers back + new ones. But now the light wizards and witches can make an open front line against The Deatheaters.

So, since no one else has mentioned it, they cut a little of the background around the propchey, which I think you'd like to know. First off, the propchey was told by Trelawney to Dumbledore when she applied to the job of divination teacher. Her relaying that propchey was the reason she got the job, as she hadn't otherwise impressed Dumbledore during the interview. The exact words of the propchey were "The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord approaches. Born to those who thrice defied him. Born as the seventh month dies. And the dark lord shall mark him as his equal, but he shall have powers the dark lord knows not. And either must die at the hands of the other, for neither can live while the other survives. The one with the power to vanquish the dark lord shall be born as the seventh month dies." A death eater happened to be eavesdropping on the conversation and overheard the first two parts, but missed the ending. He reported it to Voldemort, who acted on the incomplete information, leading to the defeat when Harry was a baby. Voldemort wanted the propchey this time so that he could know exactly what it said to ensure he didn't walk into his own demise again. The thing is, it didn't have to be Harry. Harry was born on July 31st, and both James and Lily escaped Voldemort three times. However, both Frank and Alice Longbottom also escaped three times, and Neville was born a day before Harry, on the 30th of July.  Ultimately, the reason we know it's Harry comes down to the third part. That scar was Voldemort marking him as his equal, and interestingly, despite speaking so highly of pure bloods, he choose Harry, a halfblood, to target instead of Neville, the Pure Blood. But that makes sense when you remember Voldemort is also Half blood. Finally, the reason Dumbledore was acting so distant throughout this year was that he knew it was possible that Voldemort could enter Harry's mind, and felt if it was evident that Dumbledore was directly involved with Harry, Voldemort might do so merely as a means to spy on him. Anyway, wanted to leave this here to fill you in on a few thinks that were either ommited or only vaguely hinted at. JK loves putting huge lore dumps at the end of the books, and those just don't tend to work out well in a visual media. No one wants to sit around watching Dumbledore and Harry have a conversation for ten minutes.

The acting for Delores in this really matches the hate you get reading the book and reading it you hate her for days or weeks before she finally gets what she deserves so I find it impressive they can make you hate her that much. In the books Harry has a lot of detention, its supposed to fade as its very minor scratches but for harry he ends up with a permanent scar of "I must not tell lies". Maybe we got lucky and the centaurs borrowed a playbook from some "GAWWBLINS" and broke her spirit and body.

Ewwwww, why would you even think about something like that? Also the centaurs obviously aren't supposed to be sickening monsters humanity needs to get rid off, especially not Firenze.
