Funny thing saying how badass gandalf is Ian McKellen ( the actor who plays gandalf) had said in an interview about one of the lotr games that he voiced gandalf for that he wished gandalf in the movies was more badass and had moves like in the game. I can't wait for part 2 and the return of the king. I was able to hold off for both parts for the first one but I couldn't wait this time.

While I would never want to downplay Tolkien's writing, it should be noted that some of the scenes you praised in this one were actually film originals. In particular, pretty much every scene involving Arwen, Aragorn's Elf waifu, weren't in the books. Same, I believe, with the chaotic battle on the way to Helm's Deep, including Aragorn going over the cliff. The entire crew absolutely blew past my expectations for these movies and not a year goes by were I don't kill a day or two marathoning them.
