So a little history, Trandoshans are good hunters which makes them good bounty hunters. They have constantly raid planets for pray and near by is the Wookiee (Chewbacca’s people) planet. So they have been at war servers times with the Wookiee’s and the Wookiee’s are more then happy to fight them.

"out of hatred" is the important part of the killing. Young Jedi-to-be should definitely be taught why the Jedi way is taught the way it is, but since they're not, the only thing they can do is adhere to their teachings. Had she actually killed the dude out of hatred, the dark side would very likely have taken hold of her, perhaps permanently. She would have been a poor ally at that point, perhaps even turning into an enemy later on. Since the girl was just a youngling, she wouldn't have had any experience in dealing with dark side energies without losing herself. So it's not the death of a scumbag that's a bad thing, it's the emotions that are being felt in the moment of the kill. A 'serene' kill would have likely been fine. Jedi do kill relatively often after all, just not in anger or hatred, because it corrupts. The disadvantages of being a force wielder, I suppose.
