Its actually kinda fascinating seeing this series from the perspective of someone who hasnt seen the prequels. It makes it much more interesting to see your thoughts on some of these characters and how they are portrayed in this.

TL;DR If the Death Watch went against the current government openly (moreso with separatist assistance), the people would fight back. They do not have the means to suppress an entire planet, nor would they have many new recruits afterwards. They consist of Mandalorians who love their people, planet, and culture, but who have chosen not to forsake their violent warrior past. If the government of Mandalore accepted republic assistance (or if it was forced upon them), Death Watch would gain support and legitimacy, thereby strengthening the movement. Whether they would still support the separatists after gaining control of their planet with their help is dubious at best. Personally, I don't think so. Mandalorians are prideful and do not like relying on others. Maybe all they can do is stall, but there is no good choice to be made, and outside assistance would be a terrible call in this case. Violence isn't the answer either. An actual civil war would help no one, and lots of people would die as they did in the previous civil war that was mentioned last episode, so definitely not in the interest of the people. It would just empower the Death Watch, because, you know, war is their religion. I don't really see any other way except maintaining the standstill for now and hoping for the best. Sometimes, there's nothing to be done. It may all go to shit though, if Death Watch finds another way to rally the people behind them. Movements like Death Watch have been around in our world for a long time. Most of them fade by themselves, though some of them do manage to take over their government, perhaps even because of outside assistance (Taliban+USA, *cough*). Suppressing them as best as possible after gathering as much intelligence on them as you can seems to work resonably well, but ideology doesn't easily die. Even Nazis still exist, after all.

Oooh btw it should be said, Coruscant is the capital planet of the Republic, population somewhere between 1 and 4 trillion living beings. The planet has several thousands of levels so you can flow lower but usually the wealthier people live on the surface.

Satine is willing to defend her people against threats, but she doesn't want the Republic getting involved because it would turn the people of Mandalore against her and towards Death Watch, the exact opposite of what they're trying to achieve while also painting a target on Mandalore for the CIS

She isn't necessarily willing to protect her people against the threats at all. She's so hardcore pacifist that she believes negotiation is the only option , and that kind of naivete can get people killed.
