It's really interesting to see a clone outside of the war. I like Farmer Clone!

It also impresses me that they develop some of the clones with names in this. They could have just made them all disposable cannon fodder, otherwise; that's usually how clone characters go in other media. Certain clones like Rex do have some plot armor. I won't spoil how long he lives, but it surprised me.

I can't fault any clone for deserting. It's not like they enlisted in the army of their own free will. They have no rights, they don't get paid, and they start training as children. It sounds like a pretty shitty deal all around.

Joel Miller

I could easily see the commentary as the Rebels vs Empire story was inspired by WWII and Vietnam. The action was inspired by Akita Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai movie. This was something on everyone’s mind because we were at war in 2009.

WHOLESOME DEUS

The clones were basically raised from infants to be the perfect soldier. That’s why once in a while the thought comes up that they’re “expandable” or are “programmed” like a droid would be even though they’re human with individuality. In the movies and the 2003 animations the clones were basically that, not much dialogue or expansion on them so basically mindless side characters. I think George wanted to change how the clones are looked at in this show.
