Despite his lowkey demeanor, this kid genuinely lives the life of a real badass!

oh nice, didn't get a chance to catch the reaction last night. Seeing Sakura and Syaoran redevelop their relationship slowly is so sweet honestly, and having a quieter episode to do so was a good call on the writers. they look a little different because of the art style so you may not have picked it up, but Fujitaka, Syaoran's adoptive father is actually Sakura's dad in Cardcaptor Sakura, and Sakura's father in this series is Clow Reed, the characters may look similar to their Clamp series counterparts, but they've led very different lives, I mean Lady Debonair from Rayearth was in the last arc and she's a villain in that series, but supported our heroes in that arc.

Syaoran is indeed easier to like in Tsubasa. He's much more stoic, more mature, and far kinder, especially to Sakura. And he is devoted to her as you've seen and said. In Cardcaptor, he (Xiaolang) does take time to grow on you since he has such a chip on his shoulder at first, but even there, I think where you're at in that show, he's beginning to become likable. Still has a much different personality though.

As you mentioned, he definitely progresses in Cardcaptor Sakura, but yea, I REALLY like this more mature version of him!
