Kougyoku Ren's quick flashback was of Sinbad's djinn (the one that put everyone to sleep with its scream) implying Sinbad did something to her. Sinbad is also a manipulator (such as him allowing himself to get cursed to further encourage Alibaba to conquer the dungeon), you don't become king without being able to play politics well.

Yup and Sinbad even made it clear that he thinks he is a bad guy. I personally trust his judgement.

The show at this point set up half a dozen different possible points of conflict, its kinda difficult to keep track of all the plot points. You've got Kouen wanting to become Emperor so he can unite the world and keep it under one banner to stop it from destroying itself via division like the previous world did. Hakuryuu wanting to burn the Empire, or more specifically the Organization, to the ground and not even believing in the possibility of peaceful acquisition, unlike his sister, which may slowly be driving him insane to the point where hes killing foreigners by the score. Judar doing whatever the fuck Judar wants to do, because hes just funny like that. It will be interesting to see if he's willing to be somebody elses pawn for long though. Alibaba and Aladdin trying to prevent more crap like what happened to Balbadd from happening again by gaining more power and learning what they can. Whatever Magnoshtadt has planned with its militarization and increase in magic tool production, and whoevers behind it all. And finally the main man Sinbad himself, whos also heading down his own path, pulling shady crap along the way with Kougyoku. We also keep getting regular mentions to Solomon and the world he was from, supposedly one not even connected to theirs, with only the dungeon texts and the djinn left of it. The mention that this world specifically only has one language no matter the place, even before different peoples met up with each other, the inclusion of all this info is a pretty good hint towards all the worldbuilding we've got going on
