One thing that stood out about Robin in this episode is that she said "she rather die than join Kaido", I think that's nice character growth on her part as when she said on Enies Lobby "she wants to live" if it means being with Luffy's crew, she spend all those years running and now she's found her home and a reason to put her life on the line and that reason is for her friends. So those little details were good to emphasize Robin's own growth

Nico Robin Mom mode activated. Maria is a hottie, but with those spider legs... I think she picked up something when she was in OP's equivalent of Las Vegas.

When these two episodes aired, there was a lotta...lets say controversy, around Sanji. A lot of people started to dislike him for supposedly being someone who'd give up a friend to save his own skin. Its the unfortunate reality of shonen fans mowing through the series without really absorbing anything regarding character growth, which i personally find surprising since there's so little main character growth in One Piece that when we get moments like these it really stands out. Remember, this is Sanji we're talking about, the man who took off on his own when faced with a similar choice in a past arc when an Emperor's people threatened the straw hats in order to keep them safe. For him calling out to Robin, not only a friend but a female friend as well whom his chivalry would generally demand he protect at the cost of his life, is a massive moment of growth. He's come to truly believe shes powerful enough to not only take care of herself, as well as not let his own pride get in the way of asking for help and relying on a fellow crewmember despite the danger. Its a mindset thats going to be absolutely neccessary going forward, when you're up against an Emperor's crew there can be no room for doubting each others abilities, everyones gotta start pulling their own weight.
