You're not wrong Curtis. It's hilarous how everyone is after Kaido and sees him as the serious threat. The gang will get hit with an attack by Big Mom and get up and yell Kaido like she's an after thought.

I find it very interesting that Kaido keeps trying to compare this battle with the Worse Gen with the battle the Rocks Pirates fought against Roger and Garp on God Valley. To me that just indicates despite all of their growth the God Valley battle was still somehow even more intense. It gets me curious to find out more about Roger, Garp, and most importantly Big Mom/Kaido’s captain Rocks D. Xebec. I want to see how powerful those guys are at their peak! Also yeah Curtis, LOTS of people in the fandom have the same feelings you do about respecting Kaido but no respect for Big Mom despite having the same status. People just don’t like Big Mom and how she portrays herself. Last thing, Luffy was able to take no damage from Kaido’s blast breath. Remember earlier Hygoro the old man samurai said Luffy in Gear 4th makes him look like the “God of Fire”. Well in this episode for some reason Luffy was able to no sell the fire, but that doesn’t make sense since rubber can burn. So that’s why Kaido was shocked, since something doesn’t add up.

I could not help but laugh at Kaido letting Luffy, Kid, and Law do their flexes at the start of the ep. He was so casual about it. He was all "Okay and you're thing is?" to each one. XD

Double post, but do you think Danny Trejo would have made for a good live action actor for Kaido? I base this mostly on appearances since every time I see Kaido I think of Trejo.

In an otherwise superb episode i kinda hate to be that guy, but the seemingly plot-armor that let Luffy scrape off Kaido's blast breath really irked me. I like to always assume there is some background explanation for such things in One Piece (although its unfounded since OP has a history of being plot armory quite a bit), but whatever such an explanation may be i feel its going to be very unsatisfying since it renders Zoro learning Foxfire Style irrelevant. That bothers me quite a bit since i loved the dynamic of Zoro being able to deal with Kaido's fire and Luffy being immune to Big Moms lightning.
