As for why the Ghost Devil helped out Aki, it's most likely because it still had its contract active with Himeno. She said to it "I'll offer you everything, so give me your everything" in order to save Aki. A contract with a Devil must be kept on both sides, so it was staying faithful to that. Unfortunately no announced season 2 date yet.

I really liked the series, it took me a long time to actually properly read it though, after finishing reading volume 1 the second volume was sold out for over a year unless you wanted to pay some ridiculous scalper price same thing happened to volume 4, I had nearly the entire 11 volumes of part 1 by the time I could finally find volume 2 lol, but it was worth the read, I really liked the characters in the series and the weird over the top style it has, the author Fujimoto sounds pretty weird himself, there's a lot of... odd quotes from him, like... this was either from an interview question or twitter, but he revealed that Makima does in fact own a strapon lol.

it was so strange yet kind of realistic also to have someone that was presented to be relatively imposing like snake lady there just die suddenly. it shows that nobody is safe no matter what side youre on and despite it seeming like power can provide something to that effect.
