Just for a clarification, the Mazinger anime/manga, back in the 1970's itself, which Mazinkaiser is a remake of was were Mizuki became famous. I chose Mazinkaiser as I find it's the best anime version imo. Had I done the OG Mazinger, it would be 92 ep long. The opening, Fire Wars was by Hironobu Kageyama who is part of his band, Jam Project, were as the ending, Tornado is by Mizuki himself. Kagemaya did the DBZ openings also. So two big, important singers for anime history.

Often joke that Kaiser is the grandpappy of mecha on steroids. I mean how often do you see a mecha with the body of a god, Also the op is often compared to Bon Jovi songs like You Give Love a Bad name. Somebody even replace the op song with YLABN and it flows surprisingly well.

Boss Borot is who I said was like Mecha Majin Buu. Comic relief but well meaning, large and in charge. As for Tetsuya, he's one of the early example of anime characters with massive confidence issues who needs to prove himself which is why one minute he's talking big but then calls himself a loser the next.
