Funny enough, the Johnny Cash version of Hurt is a cover of the one that played in the show. That being said, I'm pretty sure Trent Reznor likes the cover more than his own version, which is pretty damn cool.

We had to wait almost exactly a year and a half for season 3. They released episode 1 with no warning on April 1st 2017. Season 2 ended october 4th 2015. Then we had to wait till july 30th 2017 for more episodes.

This episode with the wedding is a reference to Game of Throne's most infamous scene known as The Red Wedding. It was also supposed to be a two parter, but the second half of the plot was made into Season 3's opening episode.

Yea, Reznor said as much in an interview about it. He was funny in talking about how excited he was when Cash's people requested permission to cover the song. He said basically, that you don't say no the Man in Black! 😁

The interesting thing is, originally he said no and wasnt sold until the video was shown to him. This has led to him being happy with the cash version later.
