I absolutely LOVE the overly-dramatic, campy nature of this! It gives me such a strong vibe of my own childhood!

ohmygosh I had the BIGGEST grin on my face watching this! This honestly made me kinda emotional not gonna lie. Yu-Gi-Oh was one of the shows that first got me into anime, back before I even knew what anime was. I remember being 7 years old (20 years ago, ohmygosh!) and waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the new episode, and begging my mom to buy me the cards. Never played the game, just collected the cards. Looking back on the show as an adult, it's soooo cheesy in the absolute best, heartwarming way. Pleeeeease watch more!

I can't put into words how elated I am that you're starting to watch this. The first season is definitely not the best IMO but the 2nd season is pure candy especially when a certain someone joins in.

This is gonna be good. Yu-Gi-Oh was one of the first series that I ever got fascinated by as a kid (along with Pokémon). I actually rewatched it all with my nephew last year (after having forgotten about it for so many years) and came to appreciate this series way more as an adult than i remember doing so as a kid. The plot is really well done and keeps getting better with each arc.

Awesome, it's like watching my childhood all over again! Can't wait to watch this entire series again with you! Are you planning to watch the seasons + GX after this ? I really hope so so we can get the whole experience with you.

"Come on over and join us at the Goosh" That sounds like a great idea! I also think it's funny how close the actual dialogue is to the abridged with how the voice actors speak and with how it gets said.

Sadly Kazuki Takahashi the author and creator of Yu Gi Oh died in July while snorkelling. Yu Gi Oh was originally a manga that ran from 1996 to 2004. By 1999 the manga was so successful that they decided to make an anime adaptation and later that same year a real life version of the card game

Also the original story had a variety of games everything from cards to dice to DnD, with the loser of each game being subjected to a punishment or batsu

That’s sad about Takahashi; I remember that. 😞

I never realized how close littlekuriboh was to the actual voices I almost died at 3:30 with Tristans barney voice. It's probably been at least 10 years. Probably closer to 15 since I watched any of these.

To give some context as to why Kaiba destroyed Grandpa's Blue Eyes instead of using it himself: You can only have up to 3 copies of the same card in your deck. Since there were originally 4 copies of Blue Eyes, it was impossible for one person to use all of them. As for why he didn't just lock it away or something...yeah, he's just kind of a dick, especially early on.

The Nuclear Reactor

I remember when this first came out before it ever even literally came out in America they sent around VHS tapes of the pilot episode to people around the country I got one of them years ago I wish I knew where it was now but it’s long gone probably
