I've heard people say that Isaac and Miria are a bit overly-dramatic... Poppycock, I say!

Always a good day for Baccano!

Phillip Ribbink

So yeah to fill in some details. Maiza (the guy who was given the secret of immortality) is now an accountant for the Camorra. You might remember him as the guy who Firo beat in a knife fight at his initiation. Szilard the guy who ate Maiza's brother, managed to survive (funny how immortality helps with that) and has continued his experiments. Seeming to mostly have focused on perfecting the half of the immortality elixir that he got from eating Greto. He's managed to get funding from some rich old guys who fear death enough to want immortality. His laboratory burned down, though one of his lackeys managed to make off with two bottles. Which were stolen by Dallas and his goons. So yeah, things are kind of heating up on that side of things. Szilard has also created a Homunculus, in the form of Ennis. Also Isaac and Miria really aren't playing with a full deck. It's actually revealed in the Light Novel that the sins of their past that they're trying to make up for. Was causing children to starve after stealing chocolate from a candy shop. (They mention this chocolate theft during the police briefing at the beginning of Episode 8. And the beginning of the Opening more or less portrays how the robbery went down). This just raises the question of whether these two ate nothing but chocolate as kids to make them think that children starve if they don't have chocolate.
