Those werent debt collectors, they were the mobsters who actually run the fights. Debt collectors would be much better. The tattoo shows that the guy Nanbu was talking to was a decently placed Yakuza. I mean, they held his debt. But it isnt their full time job, collecting debts is a sidething, they are more allround muscle.

Yup, they're Yakuza (or a similar breed) who are responsible for the unlicensed, unofficial and highly illegal underground fight club at the "Drunk Monk". Plenty of shady stuff that those fellas do, definitely not people you want to have to owe a debt to!

It really is surprising how much more you get in an episode than what you remember. All the big plot points and scenes certainly stay in mind, but little things like visual flair and music choice make a rewatch a rewarding experience!
