It's really cute watching the Ranma-Akane connection working itself out. Doc Tofu is interesting, too, in a weirdo kinda way.

Man ranma stays in my top 3 and probably always will, its everything I liked about inuyasha as a kid but with more focus on the romcom aspects as it doesn't have a larger overarching series long story like inuyasha did aside from detailing ranmas search to get rid of his curse

The characters are SO cool and fun! And the trials and tribulations of the ship forming between Ranma and Akane are really entertaining! 😊

huh, it's interesting seeing these first episodes again knowing how the series develops, I know Rumiko Takahashi's works for having a sort of manic high energy in her comedy and action, especially her earlier series, but the start of Ranma's anime is a lot slower and subdued with longer quiet shots. I know It gets a lot faster though soon. The anime actually got cancelled after the first season because of poor ratings in Japan, which was probably due to the slow pacing and missing energy, which was only really a problem in the anime adaptation, cause the manga's start definitely is filled with Rumiko's manic energy and sense of humour, thankfully they did bring the anime back for a second season after reworking it to give it that energy it was missing, you'll definitely notice a change when you see it. Ranma's actually Rumiko's highest selling manga as well, with 55 million sold, 2nd being Inuyasha at 55 million and 3rd being Urusei Yatsura at 35 million.

Yup its ep 18 where the original ends and ranma ½ nettohēn begins if I remember right and runs for 143 eps. Yeah the pacing does improve but honestly the pacing is solid by the time we are in the martial arts rhythmic gymnastics arc even before the second series takes over but there is some sentimental attachment to that sense of just being in the moment early ranma episodes have

Also curtis hulu has ranma ½ aswell if funimation is giving you issues though I've personally never had issues with either service

Concerned Citizen: Hello Police, there's a strange man running through the park, giving a medical skeleton a piggy-back...now he's dancing with it. Police: That'd be Doctor Tofu, just leave him alone, he'll run out of steam eventually.

Fortunately, Funimation will be gone altogether soon. I never had issues with them, either, until recently. I think, with their impending demise, they really aren't putting a lot of effort into things.
