ok so if you remember, I've told you before that the anime eventually just makes up it's own ending like the original fullmetal alchemist did, we're no where near that part yet, but here's a fairly big change from the manga I've noticed already, they establish that only weapons can eat souls, and it's because Asura ate his partner that he can as well, that's not true in the manga, anyone can eat them, it's one of the odd little changes that they started doing early on.

Yeah i think its around the late 30ies - early 40ies that the anime and manga diverge. But yeah, anyone can eat souls tis true, the Capone gang weren't all weapons but they ate souls as well

This series is just flying by, rewatching it with you. I forgot how many of these big moments happened so early in. Maka just ran into my favorite fight in the series. ^^
