To me personally this was the second best episode in one piece. The animation, everything, was so beautiful and as someone who has watched, then read, one piece since the very beginning, this episode honestly made me tear up. It's so awesome and heartwarming just how far the story and animation has come to in it's 20+ years on air. Watching it again with ye lad was like watching it for the first time all over again. My, how far we've come in this awesome journey and there's still more to come!! Get ready lad because war is inevitable. The samurai-ninja-pirate-mink alliance vs the combined forces of the big mom and animal kingdom pirates! Who will win? Only Oda knows! But the favorites are the monsters that are Big Mom and Kaido. Also say what ye will about big mom and Kaido but they know how to throw a party! Queen is an excellent party host! Even I wanted to be there!

I think you missed a VERY important detail in this episode. It was briefly mentioned: Kaido has a son! Just how powerful is the child of Kaido?!

this is my favourite episode, its amazingly animated, well paced and shows both sides of the conflict in an amazing light and its also the beginnning of the climax to a saga thats taken 10 years to get here

Queen's little music video is a creative adaptation choice. I think that moment in the manga was only a splash page in one chapter.

This episode moved One Piece from a 9 to a 9.5. I wish I could reflect the change on MyAnimeList, but they only let you do it in whole numbers. It also solidified Queen and Apoo as favorites of mine in terms of entertaining. Also, that girl that danced next to Queen is waifu material. I don't know what it is, but I find this nameless dancer, to quote Farnky "Super!!" hot. This episode was directed by Megumi Ishitani, who is in a league of her own in terms of making anime episodes. Imagine if Apoo, Queen, and Brook went on a music tour? Quite a badass of a trio they'd be!

In terms of animation this episode is easily in my top 5.

In terms of antagonists in anime, i think everyone can sort them into 3 categories, those you despise in every way, like Orochi, those you want to see beat but respect, like Kaido, and those you just can't help but love even though they're assholes. Queen definitely falls into that last category for me, the guy has the confidence and charisma of a 100 men, he's very fun to see

As a slightly negative side note, one thing i do really dislike about this episode: Nami, Usopp and Chopper. I've gone on this rant before so i won't drag it out but i still despise the near-total lack of character progression with them. They had a 2 year timeskip and beyond a visual change, and a slight change in Choppers self-perspective, there's no difference between them back before and now. Still hiding and cowering, after going up against Emperors before no less. Just eh

I love this episode but am I the only one confused why people are saying it's top 5?? I mean in terms of the entire series this isn't even top 20 for me. The majority of the episodes from the Oden flashback top this in my opinion. Maybe because I love big moments, reveals, and world-building more than just good animation. That being said the animation in Wano can't be topped.

Queen is a very popular character and the AMV styled performance by him and Apoo is regarded as one of One Piece's best moments. Couple that with this being the first time The Strawhat Crew is whole since Dressrosa with the amazing poses, dialogue, and the animation.
