Damn, it's such a great time, revisiting these awesome places the Straw Hats have visited! Not to mention, the joy of hearing that song again!

Wow just makes me realize all the adventures we’ve been on too :D

There is such a huge amount of very subtle extra details and new information in this episode, it's actually a little difficult to know where to start if I wanted to draw attention to it. Either way, I love how this sneakily turned into Roger's backstory.

so franky has met all the dudes haha

Okay so this post is long but this episode also has EXTREMELY important details: So what’s going here is that the story is giving us some clues to things regarding the end of the story and it is definitely easy to miss since we’re not there yet. 1) Binks Sake Why do they keep singing this song as they are traveling? Well the importance is that if you read the lyrics it is actually telling us a story about people leaving behind a special town and they’re letting the sea guide them elsewhere so they can spread their story across the world. This can be interpreted as those who originally left the One Piece treasure are trying to spread a message but it obviously gets lost in translation as a song. This can tie into the importance of the poneglyphs spreading a message and guiding people to the final island Raftel. 2) Red Poneglyph In the current timeline we are only aware for the location of 3 Red poneglyphs, it was mentioned in Zou that we are missing one of these Red stones. However in this backstory the missing Red Poneglyph is in Fishman Island; When the Straw Hats went to Fishmen Island, Robin had only seen one poneglyph which is the one with this person named “Joyboy” So that means between the time of this backstory and when the Straw Hats went to Fishmen Island, someone moved the Red Poneglyph somewhere else. Now who would move it? Whitebeard? Shanks? Scopper Gaban? Someone who knew of its existence moved it somewhere else, my bet is that Shanks moved it. 3) The Waver from Sky Island This goes over people’s heads when watching this but we saw Oden tried riding it and he failed. Then it was mentioned that it takes 10 years to master riding this vehicle. We never knew this when we originally went to Sky Island. Why is that important? Because Luffy also tried to ride the waver and failed, BUT Nami mastered riding the waver in a manner of minutes! So why was she able to do that? Makes you wonder if there is something special about her. 4) North Pole vs South Pole When Buggy and Shanks were arguing about which Pole was colder it was actually a callback to EPISODE 8! We have seen Buggy and Shanks have this argument in the beginning of the story and Rayleigh with black hair intervenes. It was a nice callback. Here’s the clip from Episode 8 https://youtu.be/-6tswzTQ314 Also Buggy is actually correct, The South Pole is much colder than the North Pole.

Remember how Robin read Roger's message when she was in Sky Island with other Straw Hats way back?

3. I remember it being mentioned that it takes years to master riding the waver back in Sky Island arc. (edit. yeah, went back to check. manga chapter 240, page4 second last panel Conis' dad says it takes about 10 year to master, the very next page we see Nami riding it)

Roger: So little girl what's your specialty? Sharlay: I CAN SEE DA FUTURE! Roger: Ooooooh. Neat.

i dont know why but i hate that Toei uses the dragon ball sound effects for Sharleys fortune telling, that sound is just so ingrained in my childhood as the sound of the dragon balls as they start glowing before shenron shoots out of them that it really irks me for no reason when i hear it here

Aidan

The only thing I don't like about Roger's crew is that it was all guys. Not a single girl besides Toki. A total sausage fest. 😆 😆 😆
