After Oden took a direct quake hit to the face by Whitebeard and stood back up like it wasn't much it solidified to me that he's a badass

Just remember Toki is Oden’s wife and Momo’s mother. Kinemon told Luffy and gang that she was able to sent them 20 years into the future because she ate the Time Time fruit. She’s an important character in the grand scheme of the story because of her power.

Whitebeard's rejection of Oden stems from his experience in The Rocks Pirates group. Kaido and Big Mom both had massive personal ambitions for their own purposes as did a few others. Their egos combined with Rocks' pretty much spelled doom for the group's unity. Whitebeard was the only one to learn this, yet ironically, he died to someone who aspired to the same dreams of grandeur in Blackbeard. Granted BB seemed trustworthy initially and no one suspected he was going to betray them. I suppose this could also apply to Oden and Yasuie, since both trusted Orochi who seemed honest and harmless to them both. Orochi and Blackbeard were a pair of nobodies who were taken in by powerful men, but betrayed them for their own personal gain. I imagine the two would get along, else be rivals in how they're both cowardly snakes. Happy New Year as well!! Edit: Hey maybe that train was screaming for help too! You're not gonna pull an Oden and rescue a beautiful train?

Something about hearing Whitebeard referring to his crew as his family again really hit home ! And Oden is just way too likeable. He’s like Luffy Sanji and Zoro all in one 😁

I have to disagree with the second take, Blackbeard is strong and an actual leader. His crew respects him as much as Luffy's crew respects him. Blackbeard would strike fear in Orochi, he would have to be his vessel or some sort of relationship similar to Kaido and Orochi.

Oden is awesome. So strong but at the same time he gave up his chance to go one whitebeards ship just to help someone.
