Tanya is cute in that dress lol ok here's some extra info from the light novels, they portray the guy who originally killed Tanya's previous self as a guy just down on his luck struggling to support his family in the anime, but the truth is he was actually embezzling money from the company causing a lot of trouble in general, that's why he was fired. I want you to keep in mind that the Entente Alliance Tanya just fought this episode were the aggressors here, their country is going into massive decline, so their government decided to march through Norden, empire territory claiming it to historically be theirs to rally their citizens morale, they didn't think the empire would respond, not a joke. they're the ones responsible for the war that's started, there's some intentional irony about it later in the story. There's always a logical justification for what Tanya does, the anime trims down a lot of stuff, understandably though, the light novels the anime is based on are pretty densely packed, so the more human elements to her get lost unfortunately, but she's not "evil" just logical to a fault, I'm hoping season 2 is able to keep more of those elements from the light novels.

Just a little note from the Light Novels. Most people who are awarded the Silver Wings Assault Badge, receive it posthumously. So to say that Tanya being awarded it at age 9 is impressive, is a gross understatement at best.

What do you mean portray as a cute girl she is a cute girl! I mean look at her smile when she is fighting adorable! We need to protect Tanya form all those who would hurt her since Child Protection can't do it.
