man i still forget how fuckin brutal this show was, definitely a plus that i haven't watched it in a few years. also yeah you got it right, red mask means Hell and white mask means Heaven (which really means the void and reincarnation, Decim just calls it Heaven and Hell to make the concept easier to understand for the dead)

What I like about this episode is that it shows that life's unfairness doesn't mean you can just treat others the same as you've been treated. She might have "figured" out her life, but disrespecting others isn't excused because of it. One must use their shortcomings as lessons to spot more potentials shortcomings while seeking to be a more positive force in their own life, w/e that entails. As for the guy, his life was just fucked. Looks like a major case of depression that lead to unfulfillment and in the end regret. A lot of people say they hate those who commit suicide because they think it cowardice, but as someone whose best friend attempted suicide and as someone who has contemplated it multiple times, it's no matter of cowardice and is just plain fucked up to think of it as such. It's not cowardice to run from a burning building. Now sure his life wasn't terrible, but his psyche was more than likely fucked and that should never be discredited. Anyway, yeah black hair girl is pretty hot.

This is one of my favorite episodes of this series. It just feels so raw and real, the way both these characters had their own demons and how their inability to properly deal with them led them to their fate. I'm not blaming them for it, mental health care is hard, but it's just so sad how similarly self-destructive their tragic circumstances caused them to be. It also is one of my favorites due to it being such a realistic take on depression in just 20 minutes. I showed my mom this entire show, and it completely changed her lifelong views on suicide being a sin and unforgivable. Thanks to this show, starting with this episode and a later and more thorough backstory of depression we see down the line, my mom now understands better the struggles of mental health issues and how real of a problem it can be for A LOT of people. This show was just the catalyst to her doing more research and listening to those around her more on this topic. I feel like she's a lot more open about her own struggles now too. For that, and being just an all around fantastic show with an amazing message, spectacular story and wonderful characters, I LOVE Death Parade. Anime and media in general is an amazing thing. Opening eyes, minds and hearts with entertainment is something I will forever be grateful to it for and impressed with it for.

These episodes have been absolutely enthralling! What a great concept and equally great execution!... I love both Decim and his new assistant!

She definitely is!... And yea, the characters brought into the bar have had very well-done stories!

Out of all the people we've seen so far. She's the only person who's been murdered by someone. (You could make the argument that the husband from the first episode killed himself and his wife through his anger and jealousy, causing their accident). But yeah both of the pairs we've seen prior to this died accidentally. Whereas this pairs deaths were premeditated. Her strangled by her agent, and him taking his own life. Very much an escalation of stakes for this show.
