Subaru: I'll do anything for Emelia! Roswaal: Get on my level of dedication to the cause, scrub! But yea, when Roswaal's voice changed from his sing song tone to the normal one, you knew some bad shit was about to go down. He voiced Dio in JoJo and you can definitely hear it there.

That was Emilia, since She never got Subaru’s letter she assumed he’d abandoned her for being useless so she attempted the trial over and over until she turned crazy. It wasn’t Satella or anything, Emilia just couldn’t handle Subaru and Puck not being around during what’s very clearly a hard time in the trials

It’s kinda funny, the reason Roswaal wouldn’t kill him was because he thinks Subaru needs to actively activate RBD so he was torturing him to make him do it but in reality that’s the one thing that actually resets him

1. I believe what happened is that Emelia forced herself to do the trial over and over again and it had a negative effect on her mind. She couldn't take facing her past over and over again and eventually her mind just snapped. I believe this was mentioned in one of Subaru's previous resets but I don't remember who said it. 2. Also I remember watching a comparison video explaining what was left out of the anime and I believe when Subaru was making his way toward Emelia after being half eaten by the Great Rabbit he came across the church. All of the villagers including Ato had set it on fire and were lighting themselves ablaze. They would rather die burning to death rather than being eaten alive by The Great Rabbit.

How many restarts ago was it that Roswaal told Subaru to tell Beatrice that he is "that person" ? Yet Subaru fails at every turn. Roswaal casually kicking Garfiel's head off and then claiming without Ram distracting him, he had little chance of defeating him... I highly doubt that.

Well on the second part of the comment i'm pretty sure the only reason he threw Ram on the chopping block to score a hit on Garf was because Garf would be too busy healing Ram to go full beast form. Like we see him try but because he was healing Ram he couldn't. It can be assumed from this that Roswaal can't beat Garf in that form or at the very least didn't want to cause a drawn out fight that would have attracted the Great Rabbit which would prevent him from having his dialogue with Subaru.
