It's definitely my current favorite!

Classic Luffy. He claims that he legitimately thought Katakuri was invincible but yet he just kept charging at him since the start of the fight anyway. Kinda reminiscent of Luffy fighting against Magellan in Impel Down. Luffy understood that Magellan was poisonous and touching him guaranteed being poisoned but he just ran at him anyway. A lot of people confuse Luffy’s recklessness for ignorance. Luffy isn’t stupid, he understands the situation but just doesn’t care about the consequences.

For a long time, Luffy vs Lucci was my favorite fight, but this one definitely topped it for me for similar reasons

It's also speculated that this is the method Akainu and Aokiji used at Marineford to evade Haki attacks. Aokiji was literally stabbed by Whitebeard, after all. And Akainu was attacked by Marco and Vista and "cut". They probably used the same method (being Logia users, who can freely change their body shape as well), though whether they are able to use futuresight is unknown. Admirals must at least have more advanced Haki than regular vice-admirals, who are required to be proficient in the use of Haki.

People dont give Luffy enough credit about this fight. Hes growing during the fight. I had forgotten how many G4 punches Katakuri had to take here. Hes not as used to getting a beating as Luffy is.
