We are now about to begin the literal longest fight (in terms of episodes) in all of anime. Used to be Goku vs Freeza (19 episodes), this fight is longer hah. It was something like half a year with weekly episode releases.

Even with the pacing issues (padding the runtime with reused scenes, recap, unnecessary reaction shots), it's really hard to deny how good the remaining content of this arc is, especially upon first watch.

This part of the story is great. I'm usually a manga reader but I tuned in to the anime starting this episode to see the mirror scene, which kicks off a truly great fight

Luffy: I'm not trapped in here with you, you're trapped in here with me! And yeah, I have no idea how Mr. Lick survived, but when he said "Pedro broke my candy armor" I assume he meant that he got his armor up just before the explosion, but was unable to save the hand he used to make said armor. Regardless, Pedro's act saved Brook and Chopper, freed The Sunny, and allowed them to escape Big Mom's chompers. And now we get to the main event... 2nd Son of Big Mom's Pirates Katakuri vs Strawhat Captain Monkey D. Luffy

Bruce Lee is the saving grace. Luffy doesn't have bad luck so him breaking that mirror only means those around him get it lol. And breaking a mirror truly does bring bad luck. I would know. Broke one accidentally in 7th grade and every year, including that year for 7 years I broke a bone, tore a ligament, dislocated a bone or my favorite, stitches in the mouth due to a baseball one year and another year same spot from an elbow in basketball.

This is easily one of my favorite moments in One Piece. It gave me chills too. You know Luffy has no real way to win, but you still feel bad for the bad guy lol.
