Perhaps an interesting note for this episode: When Big Mom said that Kaido can't be taken down by Luffy and co., she used "Are" when referring to Kaido, which is not how you refer to a person. So she more accurately said something along the lines of: "That" cannot be defeated by you guys. Kaido tends to be referred to as something inhuman by others (introduction as the "Strongest creature", etc.) Just food for thought ;)

Considering One Piece is in large party all about pirates fighting each other and the navy, there's actually surprisingly few named character deaths. Most dead characters are ones that died in the past (Gold D Rodger, Bellemere, Corazon etc) while the few that have died in the present usually go out in big ways (Ace, Whitebeard etc). I don't think the author likes to get rid of characters unless it serves as a key plot point. I think the most boring death was probably Vergo who just got blown up off screen heh.

A prime example of this was how it was stated that Tom was taken away on the Sea Train to Enies Lobby and never seen again. It was never confirmed if he made it there and if he was sentenced to execution. Also worth mentioning the Sea Train runs over water and Tom is not only a fishmen but designed & built the Sea Train himself.

Yknow as much as I love luffy him trying to fight big mom here was stupid, I mean he literally fell for the provocation of big mom, he did the EXACT same thing that got ace killed. Like I would kinda understand it more if he came all ready looking for a fight, but at this point it was so severely stacked against him lol. But hey whatcha gonna do, that's just luffy lol.

I think by this point the arc has made it clear that Luffy, Bege, Sanji, and Germa 66 have absolutely no chance of defeating Big Mom and her children. The only victory for them here is survival. And yep, Stussy works for Cipher Pol. I mentioned that she is an interesting one a few episodes back and that Morgans will probably grow on you. The other underworld mooks are more or less irrelevant now, I'm not even sure if the others show up again in this arc or not.

Kaido is pretty much the Madara of this show, the mans been built up by word and legend more than i'd dare say any other character in the show.
