A reminder of how well Luffy has followed some previous instructions. "Luffy, whatever you do, don't piss off a celestial dragon." Punches one in the face. "Luffy, don't piss off Big Mom." Yells into phone: I'M GONNA BE THE PIRATE KING AND KICK YOUR ASS! "Luffy, don't eat that giant poison fishes skin." Eats it right away.

My favorite example of Luffy ignoring the plan and gunning it is during the Ennies Lobby Rescue mission. Straw Hat Team: Ok here's what were gonna do and how we are gonna do it. Wait a sec, Where's Luffy?" Luffy charging Ennies Lobby screaming at the top of his lungs: I'm Coming Robbin!
