Honestly I'd forgotten how ingenious Johan's plan here was. Kill everybody that Schuwald is close to or can talk to. Whether that be the maid that read poetry to him, his bird-watching buddies or his worthy opponent in business. I wouldn't be surprised if he also killed Margot Langer/Karl's mother as well. Then while he's emotionally vulnerable he puts some patsy up to claiming to be Schuwald's son. Only Schuwald's real son shows up so he changes his plan a little. Has the patsy commit suicide or at least make it look like he did. Once again emotionally isolating Schuwald, just in time for him to introduce the real son. Perfectly situating himself as somebody in Schuwald's trust. To what end? Well we'll just have to wait and see won't we?
