It's good that even with his new power ups, he just doesn't immediately crush his opponents since they are also some of the strongest fighters in the world. Was similar when he fought Lucci from CP9 right after he came up with gear 2nd and 3rd. He just barely pulled out a win even with his new abilities.

When Doffy gets "Leo Bazooka", and it hits him into the crater, it puts him the same position he was in when Homing, Cora, and he were being crucified by the townsfolk for being ex-celestials. Arms out and that shit woke him the fuck up, all the PTSD.
