I get where the wife is coming from kind of. If Date just threw in the towel then there would always be that chance that deep down later down the line he will want to try again because “he didn’t give it his all” but if he “gives it his all now” and falls then that means the fire is dead and he can retire with no regret.

I have to say that I'm glad that Date lost. If he won it would make the boxing world seem a bit small. If Ippo's goal to the world belt is just a rematch with a guy he should have beaten the first time. That's just me.
